Lettuce Lake Park!
Located in the greater Tampa area, Lettuce Lake park is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of life. I've been meaning to visit this park for a little while after asking my co-workers their favorite places to go hiking/ walking. I wasn't expecting to see kayak rentals, a visitor's center, and a boardwalk with cute views. The observation tower I knew about beforehand. I had a really nice time exploring with my husband. Our only goal for today was to explore the park and see all it had to offer. The nature trails were pretty short so not the best for a longer hike, but it was calming and an easy going time. My favorite part was the boardwalk. Being elevated just above the ground was nice to avoid the dirt and sand, however it didn't do much to curtail the bugs flying everywhere (of course we forgot bug spray this time).
Since its Memorial day, there were several families that had rented out the covered bench spaces and were enjoying their day off. I'm excited to go back one day and rent a kayak and go out on the water for some more up close nature shots.

there was a cute couple enjoying their day out too

some more pictures from on top of the tower and immediately afterwards along the boardwalk

at the end of the boardwalk was the visitor's center
Our total distance was about 1.25 miles and we were there for about an hour. It was hot (of course!) so we headed out and got some Mexican food that I had been craving for a while. Thanks for reading! Until next time!
